Raising Siblings and Littermates
Why you might want to think twice about adopting two puppies at once
There’s no denying it: adopting a puppy is one of the greatest things ever. Puppies are cute, energetic, playful, cuddly, loving — all that. We know how it happens – you go to adopt a puppy* and you see him frolicking around with his littermate/cagemate, and you think, “Gee, maybe I should adopt them both! *SOS Animal Rescue League always strongly urges adopting from a shelter – never a pet store or a backyard breeder. Reputable breeders are mostly okay, but make sure you do the proper research.
**It goes without saying that this is not an absolute — some situations are different. Always do research before adopting, no matter how large or small the quantity.
