10 Year Birthday Celebration Recap

What a great birthday party with so many familiar faces – dog and human – to help us celebrate 10 years! Thank you so much to all who came out on Sunday, July 7th to have a super special afternoon.

And we couldn’t have done this event without the following individuals and businesses:

️ All our volunteers and reTAIL Staff who made this pawty happen, being flexible with rescheduled date and braving the heat!

️ Cooperation Canine, Bad Dog Basics and Modern Dog Training LLC who hosted the Circus Pawrades and Sniffari and for being with us throughout the whole event! 

️ The Pooch Parlor for setting up and hosting the photo booth!

️ All of those who supplied treats, raffle prizes and samples including Open Farm, Polkadog, Packer Mellem Sales including brands BIXBI, Honey I’m Home, and Fab Dog, Redbarn Premium Pet Products, NutriSource Pet Foods and Dave’s Pet Food!

And a HUGE THANK YOU to our volunteers for putting together our Road to Rescued wall and for everyone who participated and donated in the fundraiser. We had over 50 dogs on display and each year from 2014 through 2024 represented!

Here are some of the event highlights!

The Nicks Litter, one of the original litters from SOS’s inception in 2014 met at the party for a reunion. It had been almost 10 years since the littermates Paisley, Nova and Nick were adopted and they hadn’t seen each other since. All are doing great and enjoyed each other’s company walking around the party.

SOS Alum, Puma Sneaker, took advantage of our water activities during the hot summer day. 

Abbie, formerly Ladybug, showing off her dance moves! Abbie was adopted as a young pup and is 100% deaf. That doesn’t stop her from learning all new things and loving life, and her adopter has been so committed to learning along with her. 

Trainers from Modern Dog, Cooperation Canine and Bad Dog Basics graced us with their presence and hosted Circus Pawrades, a Sniffari and other activities during the event. 

Winterberry won the costume contest by a landslide being the only dog to dress up for the occasion. Super fun and super creative.
