It’s Raining Schnauzers

It’s Raining Schnauzers 1

One of our southern partners reached out to us recently about a breeder in Louisiana closing due to a death in the family and physically no longer being able to care for the dogs in their care. They have 18 adorable mini schnauzers, yorkies, a shih tzu, and a shih tzu/schnauzer mix! We committed to help with all of them, but they need some vetting and TLC to get healthy and ready for adoption!

Most have moderate to severe periodontal disease and either need or would greatly benefit from dental care. One two-year-old pup has congenital cataracts and is a candidate for cataract surgery. One has a heart arrhythmia on top of severe periodontal issues (we are hoping they are linked and with improved dental hygiene, the arrhythmia will lessen, too!).

Many of these dogs are seniors, but with many good years left to live; good practice is to run bloodwork on seniors to catch anything that might be brewing early. All of these things add up in addition to our standard vetting for spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, etc. We need your help to get these precious little pups in good shape for their forever homes!

Update: As of 8/24/2024, ALL of the dogs have found their forever homes. And all received the vetting they needed!
