My boyfriend and I were dog- starved when we applied to adopt with SOSARL; it had been years since either of us were blessed with a dog in our house. But we also didn’t want to rush into bringing home a dog that wouldn’t be the right fit for all involved… Enter Homer. when our fantastic adoption coordinator, Jocelyn told us about a lovely, spotted hound- mix that had been in a Mississippi shelter for over two years, I knew I had to meet this cutie. We had to test our patience while we waited for his quarantine period to end, but when the meeting day arrived I knew he would be coming home with us. Today is the 11th day of out life with Homer and everyday we love him more. Everyday he makes us laugh, makes us think, and makes us love even more than the day before. And everyday I am endlessly grateful for him and to him.
