Happy Tails: Sarah (formerly Kalani)

A Fall update from Sarah: I got my Mom in April of 2015 form Save One Soul Animal Rescue League right after she got a concussion.  It was a good thing I rescued Mom-she was going to go through a few hard things so I had to keep her distracted by going potty on the rug right after she took me outside, eating a few pairs of her favorite expensive boots and the most comfortable slippers she ever owned.  Mom loved me SOOO much she bought me a dog door and a tall fence so I could run freely.  Then she bought me a liver surgery because sometimes Coonhounds get twists in their livers if their food bowls aren’t elevated and if we play right after we eat.  (I recovered SUPER quickly and I’m doing great. I had the best care EVER at New England Animal Medical Center, a Vet teaching hospital and one of the best animal hospitals in New England.)

We moved to Texas a few years ago and Mom bought a house that had almost HALF AN ACRE-ALL FENCED IN!  She liked that house the best because she knew I would have more room for me to run than at any of the other houses.  All of the neighbors know and love me because of the few times I sneaked out and met them before mom found out she needed to buy me ANOTHER fence.  (Between the surgery and fences I got nicknamed the $10,000 Dog.  People think that is funny, but I don’t understand dollars-I’m a dog!
My friend Autumn who was older than me is still just as playful as ever and we are still good friends.  We both sleep on Mom’s bed with her every night.  We are her companion therapy animals, so keeping her bed warm is our job.  We got a little brother named Jude 2 years ago He is VERY handsome and a goofball.  We’re still a happy family!
