Each October, we look forward to hosting our highly anticipated The Crate Escape 5K, our signature 5k fun run/walk/crawl in the beautiful autumn colors of Slate Park in Pawtucket, RI.

Since 2016, this annual event has been supported by a plethora of community members, sponsors, and volunteers, as an opportunity for us to come together as a community to have fun, be active, and raise money and awareness for rescue dogs. In 2018, we added dog registration to include the pups in the race, and in 2021 we pivoted to a virtual setting to continue to host this event through the global COVID-19 pandemic. Our custom medals have become “a thing” and past races have included activities like balloon art, face painting, raffles, swag sales, top finisher prizes, refreshments, adoptable dogs and more!

Our commitment to rescuing dogs is steadfast, and everything that we do is only possible with the tireless efforts and availability of our volunteers, southern partners, amazing adopters, professional partners, and generous community donors.

We cannot be more excited to bring the event back IN PERSON for 2023! We hope you will join us this year as we celebrate our 7th The Crate Escape 5K in person at Slater Park.
