Ultimutt Birthday Carnival

On Sunday, June 22nd, tails were wagging and spirits were high as Save One Soul Animal Rescue League (SOSARL)and SOS reTAIL teamed up to throw the Ultimutt Birthday Carnival! It was a double celebration—SOSARL turned 11 and SOS reTAIL hit the big 6—so we knew we had to do something extra special to mark the occasion.

And what a celebration it was! From longtime SOS alumni to neighborhood pups and their proud humans, the event brought together a joyful pack of dog lovers. There were reunions of littermates and pups reconnecting with their foster families, too. We even had a few adoptable dogs join the fun, hoping to meet their future forever families.

It was a scorcher in Wakefield, but our team had all the cool-down bases covered. The pups enjoyed doggy shaved ice and doggy ice cream, a bone broth ice luge (yes, really!), a doggone fun zone with kiddie pools, sprinklers and a splash pad. Plus we had bobbing for freeze dried fish in kiddie pools which turned into extra cool off zones. Let’s just say, soggy paws and happy faces were the theme of the day.

It wasn’t just about the dogs! Attendees of the two-legged variety had plenty to enjoy too! A vibrant tie-dye station, carnival themed photo booth, snow cones, popcorn, and brownies, and most importantly, a chance to hang out with and make memories with their pups.
